" What's the point of having a voice if you're gonna be silent in those moments you shouldn't be?"
I never imagined that I would love this book so much. So much that I can't get over it. That hangover's gonna last for a few days. I'll have to pick up Concrete Rose, the newly released prequel ASAP.
4 major criteria i analyse for any book are the characters, the plot, the writing, and my emotional response. The Hate U Give gets a 5/5 on all those criteria. 5 stars is actually not enough. It deserv ...more

I'm going to try and write something, but this week hasn't been the best. (view spoiler)

This book! It was... eye opening. I don't know under which rock I was living before I read this book. I never knew that while I'm all safe and ignorant in my life, such horrible things like those mentioned in the book actually happen somewhere in the world. I can't tell how much it hurt me to read about all that.

I Loved This Book

I cried.
I was angry.
I loved it.
I feel like everyone who reads this needs to wear a heart monitor when they do. My watch happens to have one and multiple times my heart rate was 100+.
The writing and story were great. I think my only complaint was chapter twenty-five felt partially unrealistic to me.
