The only flaw is that the story dragged a little and I did guess the ending but what a story! I am still crying ...

I have never read something like this
I want to give this book 100/5 as it deserves so much.
The story and how it went throughout just made me feel so overwhelmed that at the end of the story I couldn't stop crying.. Like it was too much for me...

This story was so good. I listened to the audiobook which honestly was probably how I finished it because it is a very long story that can get repetitive, and a lot probably could’ve got cut from this to shorten it but regardless the story itself was so beautiful.

I’m not sure how I feel about the end. I was hoping for an update on Addie but once it was given I wish it left off with Henry publishing the story. Like it’s kind of a hell cycle between her and the darkness, they neve Spoilers ahead!!

I’m not sure how I feel about the end. I was hoping for an update on Addie but once it was given I wish it left off with Henry publishing the story. Like it’s kind of a hell cycle between her and the darkness, they never stop playing this game and it just dragged the end down. I honestly am confused if she truly harbors this hate toward the darkness or if it’s a projection of how she feels about herself. She blamed Luc the entire story, for everything, but she knew not to pray to the dark gods. It was her choice to go through with the wish to not get married, and I get obviously she didn’t know all that came with it but like obviously it wouldn’t be this perfect wish granted allowing her to live free without any stipulations. By the end of the book I was just confused why she solely blames and hates Luc.

She definitely loved Luc back but was too stubborn and focused on blaming him and playing games to ever see it for what it was. I feel she changed him for the better but she can’t get over blaming the choice she made on him for it to ever last. How do her actions over the 300 years make her better tbh?

In the end a message I got out of the book was the grass is always greener. Yes Addie wanted out of her obligations and marriage, she wanted freedom. And yes henry wanted to be loved, but in the end it was never good enough because there’s always something missing or something else we miss or want back. Henry wanted the authenticity back, Addie wanted to be remembered and loved. The choices you make in the moment can ripple into life long decisions so be careful with your choices and time.

Anyways, this really is worth the read. I know the physical copy is long and drawn out but such a good story!! I was fighting back tears at work listening to the end! ...more

Definitely the deal with the devil trope that is worth reading. This is so wonderfully written with lots and lots of life lessons to pick up and learn. It’s kind of hard to get there, but you’ll suddenly see yourself so hooked with this one. Addie will always have a special place in my heart <3333

One of the most unique books I have ever read.
Love the themes, characters & dynamics.

Only reason it didn't get the 5 stars was because at some parts it seemed a little drawn out + redundant.
