Wow. Holy freaking WOW. What a wild ride. I had to google to make sure Evelyn Hugo wasn’t a real deal. Taylor Jenkins Reid is such a spectacular writer, I can’t even handle it! I finished this book and literally said WOOOOW. I feel like this book was 184748291 pages because there was sooo much information and history of Evelyns life. It was so painstakingly sad. Huge ups and huge downs. It really makes you wonder about karma. This book was amazing, please, READ IT ...more

This book revolves around this big-shot name of Hollywood "Evelyn Hugo" and she is the epitome of glamour, style and a time that is now history. It also brings forth Monique Grant, an ambitious journalist struggling with her own stage in the crowd. And ofcourse, it goes without saying , about the enigmatic case of seven marriages!
It becomes so hard at a point to imagine that this all is made up . I literally thought her to a legendary actress and could even imagine her. Hats off to @tjenkinsreid ...more

evelyn hugo is a book i've heard about many times, but only through reading it did i realise that it truly does deserve all the praise it has. it's a wonderfully gritty love story that is so visceral that i ended up having to scream into my pillow. as an lgbtq+ person, this book really resonated with me. it was so wonderful and captured love (in all its forms) so very beautifully. please do yourselves a favour and read this book; it's magical.

My first book by Taylor Jenkins Reid!
WOW this book totally took me by surprise. I have no idea about what was going to happen at all. Evelyn Hugo is such a flawed and real character; I really admired her. This book has opened my eyes to the life of a Hollywood actress. We may see them as successful and happy people, but in fact, they just wanted to to live normal lives. I have never enjoyed reading a biography or memoirs, but this book is an exception. There were many important subjects in this ...more
