4.5 stars ... Wow okay this was my first classic of this kind that I have ever read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Going into this read, I was familiar with the story from both the movie and the short tv series, both of which I thoroughly enjoyed. By having this background in what the story was about, it made it much easier to understand the story and what was going on. I cannot wait to rewatch the movie now that I have finished the novel. Dear goodreads , please introduce a 6th star or maybe even ten , because ( even a miser like me , when it comes to rating books ) believes 5 star won't do justice to this book.

I am sorry to be giving Jane Austen only 2 stars. She is evidently a skillful, witty writer and her book is by no means low-quality work. But honestly, I could take it or leave it. I didn't dislike the book, and I didn't like it. At no point during the story could I really care for the characters and their fate.
