The author and her family spent a year living in Marrakech, and attempted to integrate into the community as much as possible, which proved difficult for them, as foreigners.
The book was dense reading at times, but interesting. I was especially struck by how the author engaged in Islamic/mystical spiritual practices without recognizing the danger in them.
