Who knew the digestive system could be so much fun. I know people personally who don't have a normal system and it can be a problem. So we should be talking about such things.

In college, I had a friend who always burped and farted. His belt buckle was often unbuckled. We had fun with him, but he had a serious problem and none of us realized it at the time.

And another A+ reading on the audio tape.

It maybe a definitive work on flatus, or this is what really stuck in my mind. This and Elvis’ megagut. The megacolon, as it is properly called, that killed him, it turns out. It’s actually a condition and it wasn't most probably brought about by his prodigious appetite. It’s something that a person can be born with, or it can be acquired following other medical conditions.

The book is quirky, full of weird and wonderful factoids, probably not a definitive handbook on physiology of the digestive

Not bad. There is something about Roach's writing that keeps me from falling in love with it. I'm also a bit biased against her because she has used Coast 2 Coast several times to push her books. It's impossible to take anyone seriously that goes on that show to promote their work. ...more

I read Stiff and really liked it. This is also an entertaining and informative book; however, the cutesy asides and metaphors are a bit overdone here. I would have preferred fewer of them....
