I highly recommend this book. For those who are curious about how the brain works, this book explains recent advances in knowledge of the brain clearly and well. In particular, the author explains the "neuroplasticity" revolution that has overtaken neuroscience in recent decades. Neuroscientists had previously thought that each part of the brain had a particular immutable function and that the brain changed little after early childhood. That view has been overturned. There were some great sections in this book that I would recommend to anyone. There were some iffy parts though. The author made it sound like any 'deviant' sexual appetite totally twists the individual and that porn is an 'epidemic' in society today making every male a sex crazed wannabe rapist that can't fall in love. ...more

Amazing book that really forces you to recognize the incredible opportunity we all have to shape the wiring in our own brains, as well as those around us. Hard to really take in the implications this new science can and will have on psychology and brain science moving forward.
