A very readable, engaging book centered on the moon from multiple angles -- its origins, its geology, its impact on Earth's tilt and tides, and a longitudinal history of how life on earth has interacted with the moon.

Boyle starts out with some science about the moon and moves on to humanity's relationships with the moon. Her writing is excellent, especially on science history. As this is her first book, I felt that she may have struggled with this format but still it's an enjoyable read.
