I've organized and led a monthly discussion group through my church using this book from October 2004 through April 2005. Don't misunderstand me, this is not a religiously oriented book, and that's one of the reasons I chose it. My feeling is that the universe is best approached with an open mind, and that religion's role is then to give human meaning to reality as best it can be understood by scientific methods.
