I’m super torn on how to rate this book - my general policy is that I rate according to personal enjoyment.
But here’s the thing: this is an excellent book that I didn’t enjoy. It’s well researched and has what I’m sure are fascinating recipes and useful gardening tips and a lot of Latin words and some really fascinating stories.
The problem is that I don’t particularly like recipes and gardening and plant names in Latin and in an audiobook format, there was no skipping over that.

A rather exhaustive look at the ingredients that go into the world's alcoholic beverages. While much of what was contained in the book was stuff I already knew there were sufficient surprises to make this enjoyable--for example I was aware of sorghum but did not realize that millet is the same thing.
Some information was a little lacking. Many people think that American Hops are grown in the Pacific North West (a view the author and many websites put forward), yet many states grow Hops. ...more
