Realizing why I never got through this book in college. It's writing for the slow, or as someone else said it is a 15 page essay jammed into a 172 page book. Where one example would do, 10 are given. It's importance cannot be overestimated (and to those who think that it started the anti-science movement I would say no, it is the antidote, and for more to read Collins such as Changing Order) but what a slog.

I wonder if it was partly a matter of the time- in our journal-oriented present, science
