What Members Thought

I had to put this book down when my classes got a little crazy. Now I'm glad I did because I got a lot more out of the book after taking microbiology. It was a fun read and made my classes seem more practical. Kolata is a good writer and keep it interesting, although she does get highly technical in some chapters. If you are at all interested in the 1918 flu I recommend this book. It's also a snapshot into the lifestyle of a scientist or lab tech and some of the politics that effect their work.

this is more a science book than a history book. good introduction to virology and, though probably somewhat dated, seemed very relevant to today's questions.
