Fascinating things you learn in books that may save your life one day if you are stuck in the woods (or not). Now I know how to climb a tree so tall that the branches don't even begin until 60-80 feet up.

1. Attach a fine monofilament line, anchored to the ground, to an arrow which you fire over the crown of the tree.

This book was very well done. I particularly enjoyed the descriptions of the cooperations between wolves and ravens. I was a little annoyed with the author for leaving the picked on raven alone, ultimately leading to the raven's death. He also details some of his intelligence experiments.

BTW, for some shameless self-promotion, if you like reading about animals, check out my blog on wildlife at http://backyardzoologist.wordpress.com/
