This book started out strong but deteriorated into a mess of speculation that became less and less interesting. I’m fascinated by artificial intelligence and it’s implications but this book is a little too dreamy. It cites many sources but always stays more or less superficial. His other book, The Mathematical Universe, is excellent.

one of few books i have read that combine science, engineering, philosophy and in my own reading religion. AI has become a popular vocabulary in our time but until you read this book you will not be able to comprehend the extend this technology can go or do! scary, exciting and hope giving too.
