I have to be honest I was expecting a much easier, no a freer flowing read that what this actually was, given how much people rave about this book. Yes Hawking explains some very complicated theories in more simplistic terms than normal but this still isn't the best physics book I've read in terms of being open to all (although to Hawking he probably felt like he was writing in crayon). I think I read this book (years ago) when I was just starting college (?) This would be a good book to give to a young person
(high school or early college) to spark an interest in astrophysics or cosmology (or science in general). Hawking, like Sagan
previously, has the gift of explaining complex topics (like general relativity) in a way that a general audience can grasp.
