If you read nonfiction books for educational purposes only, then this probably isn't the book for you. I've read some reviews that are critical of the writing style in this book, but I LOVED the writing. Every other sentence I had to stop and think about what she was saying, not because it was too difficult, but because she uses so many similes/metaphors/adjectives/etc... Angeir's writing was a pleasure to read. I was curious how much of the book I would have understood if I didn't already know

I always read the reviews here on books I'm about to read or thinking of adding to my "to read" list - in this case I happened upon many that were unfavorable, lots of complaining about how the author used too many puns, wasn't in depth enough, blah blah, and I almost didn't read the book because of those. Wasn't able to finish Angier's book and found myself not as interested per her previous writings. I will probably attempt to re-read at some point.
