Really interesting book because it tackles a subject I've never seen attempted within the pop-sci genre. Wasn't a thrilling read, but I got a lot out of it, and I can recommend this one for anyone interested in the history of mathematics.

So, I'd say this book is actually a 4.5, but in my usual way, I round up. It's completely fascinating. It follows zero and its twin infinity from the past to the future, explaining all of the problems it has caused and the rejection it faced. Starting with geometry based math, zero was hardly necessary-after all, you can't have zero area of a triangle.
