Every nerd/geek or even a mathematics enthusiast would have, at least, heard about the famous essay Flatland: A romance of many dimensions. I read it a while ago myself. The internet too is filled with its praises and extolling reviews.
Sadly, for me this "land" just does not make sense and I'll explain why.

First of all this book was not an easy read for me. I don't know if it was because of the age of the writing style, the arguments by Square, the descriptions, or exactly what it was. I really wanted to like it more but I just could not. I did read the annotated version by Ian Stewart which did liven it up. The book did peak my interest in researching higher dimensions such as the 4th and 5th.
