'Flatland' is amazing. Dimensions are the point of the tale. And the line, the square and the solid cube. (Sorry about being so oblique, but I often angle for a laugh at the beginning of a review, no matter how circuitous.)

The author Edwin Abbott Abbott with a wink and a smile introduces us to the science of geometry in the Victorian Age in this (a)cute story about A. Square. To understand the concepts that these surprisingly charming fantasy characters who live in a two-dimensional world illust

An interesting book. The whole discussion of color left me with the question of whether the author disliked diversity or was doing a parody of sameness. Flatland reminds me of metaphysical systems like the Hegel, interesting to look at but completely devoid of the real world.

Loved it! I found the flatland women's peace-cry hilarious and the ending quite saddening but true, we deem people with ideas that we do not understand insane even now. Would recommend, it's so short everyone should read it!
