.
This book followed Ash and Madoc. They live in a world controlled by 6 different elemental gods. Ash descends from a line of gladiators loyal to the fire god, Ignitus. Madoc lives in the land loyal to the earth god. Despite not being blessed with the earth gods powers, he still tries out to be a gladiator. Secrets. Plots. Revenge. (This. Is. Sparta.)

So far the same thing happens to me when I read a Sara Raasch book. The first half I’m not really hooked and even sometimes debating giving up and then I hit the second half and I can’t put it down and I’m all in for it. This one has a really interesting premise and I’ll definitely read the second one!
