The book I shouldn’t have judged by it’s cover is An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir. I really regret this judgement because here I am telling you I rated it a whole FIVE MEOWS! This rarely happens. But seriously, this book is top-notch compared to others in its genre.

I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to read this book, but I loved it. The characters and world building are amazing. I love that it has fantasy elements while still being grounded in reality. I enjoyed the alternating chapters so that you could gain insight on both of the main characters. I can’t wait to continue this series.
