I had a friend who knew the Allende family years ago. Her husband was a new Senator in the U.S. Senate during the period leading up to Pinochet's coup and Salvatore Allende's death. It was another example of the CIA's interfering in another country's politics, creating quite a tragic mess from what little I heard. This book filled in the human side and was very interesting. ...more
