When I started this book I was very optimistic. The first 40 pages proved that I had been a little too optimistic. It took me so long to get into this book that I even considered not finishing it. Yet as the book progressed on and the storyline began to develop itself more I started to appreciate it.
The banter between the characters and the development of said characters along with it.

It was a book that could've gone many ways, but for someone who has a secret love for happy endings and love fin

“In my heart, I’m as wild as the ocean that raised me.”

I am pleasantly surprised. This book was actually pretty decent, and I was not expecting it.

This could be a four-star, it is subject to change based upon how I feel after I process, but that also feels high.

This is a fantasy standalone, and those miss a lot of the time. I can never get into the characters or the conflict, but I actually got into this book quite a bit. I could have used a little bit more world-building and polit

Finished this awhile ago but forgot to do this till now lol oops. Anyways, I thought it was a really good idea, but was not executed well. It mostly just felt like a first draft of a book with no editing or anything.

""You are a little heartless today, aren't you?"
"Never," I say. "There are seventeen under my bed."

Ah, I have mixed feelings. The beginning was so slow I mean yeah, we have to start a story somehow but it was pretty bad imo. After 100 pages the story finally really started and it became pretty good! It was exciting with romance and action, I liked it! The ending was super cool tho!

"How strange that instead of taking his heart, I'm hoping he takes mine."

Lira was a badass woman! She was strong,

Yay for enemies to lovers! And pirates.

This was a really unique standalone fantasy. I kinda forgot it was a little mermaid retelling until I read some more reviews. But I really enjoyed the fast-paced plot and the found family.
