2023- Audiobook. This is the second time I have read this. I was not sure I ever would, due to how heavy the last third of it was. And yeah, I am feeling it right now. Especially having read this back-to-back. I feel very invested. This book messes with you. I get why Katniss has trust issues and the hits keep coming! While I suppose the ending has a very real feel to it, it is also sad. If you are looking for "Happily ever after," look elsewhere.

Not in the same league as the rest of the books... Hunger games was awesome, fast paced, and meaningful. Catching fire was not as good as hunger games but still a good read, especially if you see it add a build up book. But Mockingjay was quite disappointing...

The character Katniss that you might have loved in hunger games is gone and I'd replaced with a girl who is either unconscious, crying, hiding, wallowing in self pity, or plain confused.

I think the only thing I really really liked about this book was the last page of the last chapter (not the epilogue). Because we're stuck in Katniss' head the entire story, we miss out on a lot, I think. Especially in this book, she doesn't always get to be involved in the most exciting parts, so, alone with Katniss, the readers get left behind.
