Supplemental – The Return of the King
I listened to nearly all of this as the audio book. Every moment was as dull as a Winter’s morning. I did get some satisfaction from finally reading about the scouring of the Shire. That chapter went a long way to show how far the hobbits had come. Their efforts during The War of the Ring had hardened them, and it was interesting to see how they could implement their experiences without any assistance from a lone character giving them an easy deus ex machina. ...more
