Finally read The Hobbit and it was really fun. I loved the Lord of the Rings films but I just never got around to reading the books. That is something I hope to fix this year but I wanted to start by reading The Hobbit. The style of the book is very light and I can see why it was originally meant for kids, but I still found it engaging and fun.
