Latest finished read made me reminisce Japan 🥲
I think I’ve mentioned that I was planning to read a yg book (bcs its still yoon-march) but ended up with an sj one. No regrets!! I’ve enjoyed this book immensely!
The start was a bit shaky as I always read (recommended) fiction books blindly so understandably I was VERY confused. The plot POV device reminded me of Han Kang’s The Human Acts which I love.
BONUS point: I find this book easier (been getting a lot of easy ones!!) to read and I wasn’t as ...more

Syempre, 5 stars tayo sa book na "recommended" by my 자기야, 김 석진. Haha!
The book was very heartwarming and such a joy to read. It started out light, with the characters making me laugh out loud, and then continued on to hurt and pierce your heart with its poignant stories.
I love how the short stories were weaved together. Simple writing, and very comforting to read.

I have read a number of Japanese translations of revered books and I have found the majority of them do not flow. Lost in translation? A interesting story and nice time shifting plot, but lacks emotional attachment. Again the translation?
