Virginia Hall’s life is fascinating and phenomenal, and this well-researched book tells a story that should be shared until it’s common knowledge. It would make a great film subject!
The author’s appreciation for her subject is clear, and by the end, mine was as well, although for such and academic tone, I sometimes bristled at the clear bias/indignation in reporting - there’s nothing wrong with that, per se, but it came late in the book and didn’t fit with the rest of the narrative.
