I learned so much from this book of non fiction, about three Black families migrating north from 1915- 1970
The three families are not known to one another having migrated from different states. They all
left the south for the same reason, that of no longer willing to pick cotton, and fear for their lives, so wanting a chance of a better future. The book follows the three families throughout their leaving until their death. It is a story of determination, braver ...more
