This book is a great American Classic. It is impossible to fully describe its influence.
I love reading the comments about Abbey. He just pissed off everybody. This was when the so-called "environmental" movement in this country had balls and snark. Now, it's pot-lucks and social events, getting anything done as an afterthought. It's "being professional"=lobotomy.

This book makes you want to go out and commit some anarchy. It will probably be relevant as long as humans exist, unfortunately. It is a fast paced, exciting book that keeps you on the edge of your seat at times. This is the first fiction I've read by Abbey and I intend to read some more.

A tale of anarchy and revolt against the destruction of the natural beauty and majesty of the American West. Funny at times and always gripping, especially if you're familiar with the remote desert of Southern Utah and Northern Arizona
