What a beautiful yet heartbreaking story! This book grabbed hold of my heart and didn't let go. I didn't know whether it would live up to the hype for me, but it truly did. Kya is one of the most interesting main characters I've encountered in a long time.

“How much do you trade to defeat loneliness?”
I have to be honest: I was so close to abandoning this book. I did the audio version (no surprise there) but I was so bored through the first 1/3 of the book. I hardly ever consider abandoning books, but this one was dry as all get out at the beginning. I mentioned something to my mom and sister, both of whom had already read this book. It took me a little while to get into this one with the back and forth in the timeline but then I couldn't put it down. Melancholy and captivating.
