I loved the nature descriptions, the marsh really came to life on every page.
"Autumn leaves don't fall; they fly. They take their time and wander on this, their only chance to soar." Perspective and outlook are some of the main themes in the story that Owens presents very well. Some see a leaf as falling, while some see it as flying; some see a young girl living on her own as a wild creature that won't make it, while others see her as an expert in nature who was wronged by her family and society as a whole. Kind of a slow start, but totally worth it to the get the ending
The super slow start, lack of character development, and overly wordy descriptions…I just couldn’t finish this one.
