[close] I have read a fair amount of poetry, so I can't say this is my first shot at it. I'm not a poetry connoisseur either. I've read some Robert Frost, Where The Sidewalk Ends, but that's about it. This is a very popular book of poetry, and definitely a different form of poetry that I've seen that also has feminist themes. I'm interested in this, because I want to have a more rounded reading perspective, and I hope that this one will help me want to read more books on poetry in the future.

I was somewhat reluctant to get to reading this book. The reason being that it is the first actual book of poetry that I have ever read. Sure, I've read poetry in school, but definitely not like this. Have you ever gone to the bookstore or library and flipped through one you were interested in? The poems look much shorter than other poems I've read before. You've heard of the saying, "Don't judge a book by it's cover." Now I'm telling you this: Don't judge a poem by it's length.
