What Members Thought
4.75 stars. Revisiting a childhood favourite didn’t disappoint me at all. In fact, I found it just as page turning now as I did all those very many years ago.
Marianne is sick and confined to bed for several weeks. She finds an indelible pencil – this is the book that first taught me the word ‘indelible’ - and draws pictures to pass the time. When she sleeps, she dreams she is in the image she created, and that’s where her adventure begins.
I would highly recommend this novel for 9 to 11-year-olds ...more
