“And I shouldn’t hope. I shouldn’t try to send this. I don’t even know your name.
But I think there is a magical link between you and me. A bond that not even distance can break.”

This book has been getting a lot of hype lately, and I’m glad I picked it up.
Not only was it a romantasy, but it was easy to read and follow with a unique plot. It ended on a bit of a cliffhanger so I am looking forward to seeing what happens in the next book!
This is a sort of pen pal romance, and I always enjoy those! Iris writes letters to her brother in the war, and they always go unanswered; until one day she gets a response. She starts writing letters back and forth with this ind ...more
This is an amazingly beautiful book 🫶
When I started this book I went in totally blind and I couldn’t help but fall deeply in love with the characters, the plot and the writing - she wrote this book for people who want their soul barred and their heart to bleed.
I felt so deeply for these characters and what they were going through - the bravery in this book was just wow
Please do yourself a favor and read this book!

I’m not a big fan of YA romance but this one made me sob!
In „Divine Rivals“ by Rebecca Ross we follow Iris and Kit in a dual perspective historical fantasy romance. The world is reminiscent of a world war setting except the forces at play are ancient gods. They start out as rivals at a local newspaper and accidentally begin communicating secretly via magical letters.
This reminded me so much of the movie „You’ve Got Mail“ with Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks accept with a much darker tone. The world bui ...more

usually when i have a problem with the length of a book its when it is way too long and there was a ton of stuff that could have been cut out or was way over-explained but i felt like this was the opposite! I loved Iris but would have loved to know more about her character. And i also really liked Iris and Roman, but they fell in love wayyyy too fast. They couldve been sm better if everything didnt happen so quickly. i loved the premise and loved pretty much everything, i just think most everyth
