Knowing this story was about a backwoods cannibal family I expected something similar to Off Season by Jack Ketchum. Brother is very different, much less gory and much more emotional than what I had expected. Both excellent reads but with very different styles.

I don't usually read Horror books but had heard good reviews on this book and thought I would give it a try. I have to say I wasn't disappointed I couldn't put it down. Would have finished it in one sitting if I hadn't started it so late in the day. I don't know what to say about Michael. Is he at fault for the family he is with yes I believe so but as a four year old abducted from his family and raised by psychotic human beings how is he supposed to act. A book about a backwoods serial killer family? Sign me up! Even with the dark premise, for a while this book lulled me into thinking that I could possibly recommend this to a few people. The characters were fantastic and it was really hitting some emotional buttons, but once I got to the last 100 pages, it hit me that I was wrong... I can only recommend this one to those readers that don't mind the level of darkness that blood and heartless violence brings.
