This took me a few months to finish. I would hate to say that this book is "too much" because I knew what I was getting into and the author intended for this story to be told. But it was ... a lot. teared up once and cried my eyes out once. I kept getting pissed off at Jude. After finishing the book and closing it, I told my husband every bad thing that happened to Jude from his birth to the end and he asks me how could I read something like that.... My biggest criticism of this book is the whole thing is telling and not showing. The explanations of the character motivations are so overdone and often really unnecessary. We get it! At the same time, I did become quite attached to the characters and invested in their lives. (And cried obviously...)
