The more I think about this book, the more I fall in love with it. So, I'm changing my rating to a full 5-stars.

This was such a surprise read. I had no expectations going into it, but I ended up really loving this book! Provocative themes concerning racism that still apply today, and wonderful female solidarity. I loved how the friendship between Jane and Katherine developed.
