Benjamin has a very smooth and readable writing style, and skillfully balances distinctive POVs with realistic character development. Truthfully, I wanted more of the side characters than I did of the 4 Gold siblings (Robert, Ruby, Luke, Meira...you're the real MVPs). However, the slices from their lives were compelling and emotionally moving.
