The myth of the hero and heroine is not only a trope of fiction, and fantasy in particular. I hear psychologists about it. I hear sociologists about it. And I see social networks, with their top followed, and top reviewers, and best librarians. They tell people they can be heros for the week. I listened to the audiobook of this narrated by Wil Wheaton, and all I'm saying is Wil should narrate more books. Like, all of them maybe.

I really enjoyed this book. It was fun, well-paced, and enjoyable. As a scientist and someone that loves science fiction, I loved the frequent reference to the absurd. It had great humor, and I didn't expect the ending. I don't want to give away any spoilers, but the change in tone was nice.
