I finally finished this drama-filled book! Crazy Rich Asians was a fun read, filled with so much Asian culture you'll only know if you've actually experienced it yourself. And though it was set in multiple locations, all the Singapore references make me miss the country so much!
Now, when it comes to the romance the book promised, it was fun to see the scenes that we have also seen from the film. I have always been a fan of Nick and Rachel, especially Rachel. (And of course envisioning the movie ...more

If someone would have explained the plot of this to me, I probably would have said it doesn't sound like my thing. I'm usually not into just hearing about a bunch of rich people fake nice and gossip and count money and all that, but this was so entertaining. They were pretty funny. I'll continue the series.

The characters were fun, the intrigue of the various family connections absurdly addictive (the family tree graphic in the front was very much appreciated!), and the love story sweet. Reading this book felt like bingewatching a season of a prime time soap opera. I look forward to seeing the film and reading the rest of the series. 4 stars.

A guilty pleasure read - couldn't put it down and finished it in one read this morning! I enjoyed it, the ridiculous drama and gossip (that I'm not a part of) is what I live for. But the descriptions of everything got glossed over by my eyes at some points because I am not rich enough to care lmao. I'll probably pick up the series, which I haven't done in a while!

I knew going into this book that it was just going to be a light, humorous read. The book held up to that reputation as long as the reader can laugh at billionaires complaining they don't have enough money. I was ok with that, but 408 pages was just too long for a story that didn't really go much of anywhere. I didn't know it had a sequel before I read it, but the ending screamed sequel to me with it's non-ending, ending. All those pages and then everything is left up in the air? I don't have a

One star for diversity. One star for all the Asian references and hilarious glimpse into these people's crazy lives. But the writing style, the large cast of characters of whom I only care about a few, and the plot lines just didn't work for me.
