Wonderful juvenile/middle grade/YA book by Louise Erdrich. The book details lovingly a year in the 1850's in the life of 8-year-old Omakaya and her family. The story is rich with Ojibwe culture, language and way of life. I listened to the book and enjoyed it thoroughly - and learned so much! ...more
