It was very difficult for me to rate this book so low especially since I love Circe so much. However, I felt like this story lacked a certain something that Circe did have which was interesting characterization. It's all from the perspective of Patroclus, an awkward, young prince who, despite being exiled, has found solace being raised along side another young prince, Achilles. Patroclus has always been in love with Achilles, and Achilles does return Patroclus or at the very least doesn't reject

Excellent Literary Novel
Madeline Miller writes a beautiful imagining of Achilles life from the perspective of his lover. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this excellent literary retelling and reimagining of Greek mythology.
