What Members Thought
Well, this was a very hard book to read. Everything about it felt so raw and real that when something bad happened it felt like a punch to the gut.
First of all, I was surprised to find no trigger warning for sexual assault. Even if it was not descriptive, there should've been one. Among my favorites for the year.
I didn't know what to expect when starting this book but had heard so many rave reviews from #Bookstagram accounts who don't typically agree on their favorites. I knew there must be something special here.
My favorite parts of the book were the rhythmic calm of rituals and traditions-from the every day (setting intentions every morning) to special occasions (pow-wows).
