Reread in 2023: This reread is for all the foreshadowing stuff. I'm amazed by the bits we see here and there. and it's strikig to see the childish wonder in this first book.

Reread: January 2015
The latest re-read of the whole series, and I thought that it was about time that I wrote a review for this book (books!).

Loved this the first time I read it, but just listened to it with my son (8) and it wasn't near as good. It was really draggy. He liked it. I asked if he wants the second one, he said yes, but wasn't enthusiastic about it.
