An absolute masterpiece!

This is my second book by Lois Lowry after The Giver. Number the Stars is a quick, easy to read, short story with children and young adults in mind as the audience. The story follows ten-year old Annmarie and her friend Ellen who live in Copenhagen during the times of WWII and the German invasion in Denmark. Ellen's family is Jewish and the book narrates their journey trying to escape Denmark before being taken by the Nazis. I would recommend this book to children in middle school and young adul
