Shelves: non-fiction

Thank you to the very talented Isabel Wilkerson for writing such an enlightening and moving nonfiction book about the caste system in America. This should be mandatory reading in every high school. I cannot say enough about this book. I thought I understood about the current climate of our country, but there was so much I learned from this book. Bottom line, this is a book based on having respect and love for all people.

I consider this to be required reading for everyone. Particularly white people living in countries with a history of colonisation. While there is a strong focus on America the lessons from this book can applied to most countries, even New Zealand. Before we can fix any problems we need to first identify them - this book really shines a light in this regard.
