What Members Thought
The first part of the book and the end (book 3) made slogging through the middle worthwhile. Spark Notes were invaluable.
I just saw the musical version of this book which enlivened the characters and made me want to re-read it. The performances and the songs were just extraordinary. I loved this book before I saw the musical, but now it has so much more immediacy. I hope that many people will now return to Dickens to see this drama of the French Revolution anew.
I had to read this in 8th grade, and I loved it! It got me interested in reading more about the French Revolution.
