This was an emotional read about the civil war in Syria. There are so many heartbreaking stories of immigration and asylum that are well done and this one belongs in that category. I didn't know where in the world Aleppo was when I started the book and really didn't know a lot about Syria and the flight of those citizens through Turkey and Greece in seeking asylum. The author worked as a refugee volunteer in her 20's and she grew up with her parents also involved with immigrants, so the writing
