Very good discription of a 21-year old girl from Canada going to Bhutan to teach English. Many questions are raised, some answered, some not. If it were a novel, I´d say it contained clichés, but obviously it happened that way, and I admire Jamie for daring to do this and always questioning herself and things around her.

Wonderful memoir about a young Canadian teacher adjusting to living in Bhutan and the way that this tiny country changed her. There were good insights into the difficulty that Bhutan has in maintaining its culture as Nepali immigration and tourism threaten to change its traditions. Zeppa's writing is superb and her humor both toward herself and her students is heartwarming. I do wish her story hadn't ended as abruptly as it did.
